Journal #1: Launch Day Glow Up
Launch Day morning, 11:00-ish. Second cup of coffee, Dad finally looking at my site. Being the offspring of an SEO consultant, this was huge. I’m waiting for a “good job, honey” or “very cute.” Not even close. Instead a full lesson on SEO.
Luckily, it wasn’t too complicated. Instead of a page with short phrases like “Meet the Pets” or “My Links Page,” my landing page is now my blog. Copy (aka words) keeps Google’s attention longer, giving my site more chances to show up in searches.
You’d think I’d have caught this sooner, but nope. I was clickety-clacking away in my La La Land of pink and cute graphics. But hey, the whole point of SEO But Cute is making search engines less scary, and even the offspring of experts make mistakes.
Here’s to embracing the messy parts of learning, and making them cute along the way. Thanks, Dad (love ya).
