Pets
I have two cats and two rabbits, which usually gets one of two reactions: “wow, that’s a lot,” or an unexpectedly long conversation with a stranger. They are, in a word, my sanity. They keep me sane when I feel crazy and drive me crazy during the rare moments I feel sane. My household is daily chaos, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Holly
Holly is our 13-year-old, sweet old gal. Dad rescued her in 2015, and she’s ruled the household since.
Ivy
Ivy is my secret tuxedo who likes to sit like a lil goblin. I’m convinced she’s the reincarnation of one of my childhood greyhounds.
Robbie
Short for Robertina, she’s taught me how to be more compassionate toward rehoming situations, and that rabbits can and will eat dry cat food if it’s left unattended.
Ringo
Ringo was rescued a couple of months after I started volunteering at the shelter I rescued him from. “Just looking” was a lie. We both knew it.
